Great preservation, and rebirth of a Thompson course

点评：This is not a resort course so don't expect manicured fairways and exorbitant green fees. It IS a rebirth of a Stanley Thompson/RTJ course. My rating is based on the fact this is a Stanley Thompson/RTJ course being brought back to life, and I try to play Thompson courses whenever possible... to date I have played 18 of his courses. I played 18 holes (twice around the track) about a year ago. The routing is good and seems true to Thompson's original routing except for maybe the 9th hole. The owners were very welcoming and they are trying hard to bring the course back to its original condition. Don't expect irrigated fairways (but then again, about half the Thompson courses, including Highland Links when I played it in the 70s and 80s, I have played have NO fairway irrigation) so expect the ball to run out in the dry summer as Thompson intended. Greens have been rebuilt and were still growing in when I was there so they were super slow, hopefully they have grown in more and have been cut down this year. Give this course a few more years at the current rate of progress and it will be quite enjoyable, and quite authentic.
