点评:we went in the morning when there wasn’t a lot of people so it was very chill and there were no people around although i heard it’s a lot more crowded at night 👍 there’s a complimentary guided tour once u purchase tickets to the museum and our guide hem (shoutout 2 her) was super chill and funny and knowledgeable about the place and the content of the museum! there’s a lot of focus on different religions across the world and how they portray the afterlife + their funeral proceedings and festivals honouring the dead, with an emphasis on taoism and taoist practices in singapore. the highlight of the museum is definitely the 10 courts of hell, which lists out the punishments for different sins and shows pretty gory dioramas of people going through those punishments. our guide gave us an explanation of the 10 courts and then wrapped up the tour so we could explore the place in our own time. the dioramas in the 10 courts (+ outside in the wider haw par villa area) were very well maintained and detailed and very cool. the tix r pretty reasonably priced imo it was like $20 even though the place was a bit small. should go for the tour to get the most out of ur ticket i think. overall 5/5 experience would go again and very appropriate for spooky season #bringbacktraumatisingkidswiththe10courtsofhell
