点评：Visited with my partner while in the area. Good selection of drinks, although the landlord wasn’t familiar with how much Martini to pour for a Martini and lemonade. Twice I had to ask him to top it up from 25ml. I know it’s not 1987 but it’s my favourite drink and if I’d have had to ask a third time I would be marking down this review. There was an epic selection of bar snacks. If you go, ask the landlady if she can rustle you up some of her mini Yorkie puds with roast beef and horseradish. A real crowd pleaser. Good tunes on the jukebox, although at one point someone requested Coldplay and there was a real risk of the vibe disappearing but this quite bossy woman made the landlord turn it off and put George Michael on instead. Again, it’s not 1987 but he is my favourite so I was happy. There was a great crowd in the bar. It’s the kind of place that you pop in for one and end up staying all night. I got talking to an older lady who had driven there and was only going to have a lemonade but ended up polishing two bottles of Chardonnay and leaving after midnight. Legend! They seem to like shots in this bar and Baby Guinnesses seemed to flying round every 5 minutes. I think the Tia Maria might have been off though. Towards the end of the night the landlady turned up with a dressing up box and I thought maybe this should be our cue to leave. Perhaps that’s normal in St Athan?! Anyway, it was a really lovely night, especially once the landlord got the hang of appropriate vermouth measures. Will definitely go back if I’m in the area.
