点评:Luis is the heart and soul of this winery bringing so much passion and inspiration to what he does. I learned so much from him about what it takes to grow and maintain a vineyard, as well as the history of the Douro Valley (the struggles and successes). He was great at making wine (especially port wine) exciting to younger generations, bringing a contemporary and modern approach to drinking wine.
His English is perfect and he is so well spoken and clearly very intelligent. Before doing this full time, he studied the chemistry and even performed mass spectroscopy to trace the contents of wine as a form of quality control.
The wine itself is wonderful. Our favorite was the Grande Reserva Tinto 2021. The port wines were also standouts.
We left here feeling so excited to order cases of Gueda wines to the US (which Luis explained is quite easy to do) and share these amazing wines with our friends and family in Minnesota. We also feel very inspired to try some of Luis’ port wine cocktail recipes he shared with us and to get creative and experiment with new recipes as well.
