Expensive for what you get! Lack of management skills and compassion

点评：My first impression of this spa was terrible. My daughter had bought me vouchers for Christmas that were valid for 3 months and we planned to use them at the end of March for my birthday. However I had been waiting on a series of operations and the first one came through for 6th March with another surgery planned for 3/4 weeks later. Firstly I tried to book a date in with the spa but that proved to be difficult due to dates my daughter and I could do and availability at the spa, I think they may be short staffed at present. The manager of the spa rang me and I requested to extend the vouchers, there was no way she was going to extend them and her main reason for this was they had a lot of outstanding vouchers from Christmas. I explained about my planned surgeries which meant there was a whole month we could not attend, she was very unhelpful and flatly refused, I asked to speak to someone higher in authority to which she said I was speaking to her! I even offered to send her copies of my appointments to prove I actually had surgery but no still no help. Then trying to find a date to book was a nightmare, my daughter works in a vets and I work at our local hospital so taking time off can be difficult. We ended up booking our treatments but could not have them together, she wanted us to use the pool afterwards which we did not want to do as it would affect the treatments we were to have. She was not happy as it meant my daughter and I both had a spare hour whilst the other had the treatments. I said we would bring a book and read in a relaxed environment, I stood my ground and this is what we done but she was not happy! My daughter was not able to use mos TV of the facilities as she had a tattoo a couple of days which had been booked in months before this and we ended up with only 1 day that we could book so had no choice.
Due to all this I have to say we were both dreading actually going which is sad when this is supposed to be a treat!
On arrival we met a lovely therapist called Sarah who had our gowns and slippers packaged together in a neat little bundle, she showed us where to change and advised us of how the few hours were planned.
We then both spent time in the pool area, this is not what I would call spa level but was sufficient for a little swim and to use the sauna and steam room although my daughter could not take advantage of this. There were a couple of beds dotted about the place but not many, luckily my daughter and I found a couple spare by the incredibly dirty windows overlooking the lovely countryside! The window are in desperate need of a clean!!!! The areas was also quite dirty with old plasters on the floor.
The showers were very nice and there were good products to wash your hair and body in.
The treatments my daughter and I received were very nice and Sarah was so lovely and made us both feel relaxed. We came out smelling amazing and I was so relieved we were now not using the pool afterwards!! I have given this place 2 stars, this is as down to management, the quiet poor pool facilities and lack of cleanliness. If I was just rating Sarah and her back massage and facial I would be giving her 5 stars!
The afternoon tea was lovely, however for the price I do feel they could accommodate an afternoon tea and include some sandwiches!
I feel sad that my daughter had depend so much money on these vouchers for the experience to have been tarnished my poor management and cleanliness.
