Not for families, not without warning, and not what we expected

点评：We were drawn in by the glowing reviews. Words like authentic, family-run, charming, and educational convinced us to book this “brunch and farm experience” during our week in Naxos with three children under eight.
But none of those reviews mentioned what greeted us: a narrow, extremely steep concrete track winding up into the hillside - completely unsuitable for a standard family vehicle, let alone one carrying young kids and grandparents. When we stopped at the base to assess whether it was safe to proceed, it quickly became clear that it wasn’t. Not for us. Not with children. Not in 32°C heat.
We made the call every parent dreads — the one that balances safety, disappointment, and sunk cost, and turned around.
The response from the hosts? No refund. Not even partial. The reasoning: we had a “booking obligation.”
What’s unfortunate is that none of this was made clear in advance. No mention of difficult access, no warning that the road is better suited to a motorcycle or mountain goat than a family van. Just a cheerful stream of five-star praise that, in hindsight, reads like a different experience entirely.
To be clear: we never made it to the farm. Maybe it’s as wonderful as others say. But if you're travelling with young children, or anyone with mobility considerations, you deserve to know what you're signing up for and to be treated with empathy when things go wrong.
