Terrible customer service and misleading.
Bovington SUP Hire的点评
点评：Unfortunately, we did not have a positive experience with these people. We had carved out some time for ourselves that day as it was our anniversary, sorted a babysitter, and our afternoon ended up being a very expensive drive to Lulworth and back!
Unfortunately we created an assumption for ourselves which was never corrected and we feel that the offer of an hour rental was a bit misleading.
When we picked up the flier for Bovington SUP hire and contacted them about an hour hirr, they asked us about renting for the day instead, which we couldn't do due to having our 1 year old at home. They did not check our understanding or check where we were going. On the morning of collection, I checked online for their address but it just says 'Dorset' and the link to google maps also just takes you to a general area, so I asked whether we met in Lulworth at the beach (as most people I know who have rented collect the boards from the beach ready to go). I know it says Bovington but again this was an assumption unfortunately. It wasn't too clear, even looking back the your site now, that it is a collection from home, as looking at the site, all the photos are on the beach so our understanding from that was that it was a pick up, ready to go from the beach, 1 hour on the water situation, which was perfect as it was my first time.
When they said it was a pick up from Bovvy address, I mentioned that to my partner and we both then assumed there must have been a small leeway of time either side of the hour to allow for getting to a place and sorting the boards, parking etc.
When we came to pick them up, I asked them about the logistics of the hour, because an hour just seemed really short, and his answer was 'an hour is an hour'. I honestly was stood there just contemplating whether we even bothered because it was going to be such a short time on the water. He did say if we weren't back on the hour on the dot, that was okay 👌🤔. He asked us where we were heading and I said Lulworth, to which he offered the option of Wareham, which he described the water as 'pretty stinking, it's full of duck sh💩t, but it's closer 👌'.
Due to that we decided Lulworth was probably the better option. We were asked to be there for 1200, and after paperwork being filled, we left at 1207 and headed to Lulworth. We arrived around 1225 and the parking was heavily full and we had to park at the end of the overflow car park. I went to pay whilst my parter started pumping the first board. I came back and said to him, I've paid for parking but this really isn't going to work. By the time both boards would have been pumped up ready, we would have had around 20 minutes to get down to the water, be on the water, and drive back. So realistically, we weren't making it onto the water. We packed up everything and drove home.
There was an obvious misunderstanding the whole way through it seems. It definitely could have been rectified and we could have booked 2 hours or even half a day if we knew. They did offer to sort something out for us next time, but unfortunately it won't happen as we had to get sitters in etc as we do not know anyone in the area, so it was a massive effort just to get the time aside and sorted to do it.
I have checked with a few other people who have rented boards and they also said they'd have expected it to be a pick up, ready to go, 1 hour session. Not feesable to have a 1 hour option as it's probably not possible, wherever you go!!!
We asked for a refund and explained everything to them, as we did not even get to use the boards, we literally drove around with them in the boot! This was instantly declined. I wouldn't bother with these people as their customer service is terrible.
