点评:If you’re looking for a break from El Nino’s water activities, I highly recommend this guided Nature Walk with Je of Kalye Artisano. You’ll see and learn the sounds of several bird species unique to SE Asia or the Philippines, and learn to identify and appreciate the ecological importance and uses of key plants and trees as you walk through native habitats close to the Kalye Artisano Center near Lio Beach.
With luck, you’ll also spot a couple separate band of monkeys and see how they police their land boundaries. My energetic and good-humored guide’s enthusiasm was contagious, as I found myself looking more attentively at all things for the rest of our Palawan trip. There may be a 4-person minimum but you can do it solo (like I did) or with a smaller group if you just pay the full but fairly modest guide fee. Due to time constraints, I’d planned on only 90 minutes but the walk was so captivating, and the morning air so refreshing, that I couldn’t break away and happily took the full 3 hours. This was one of the highlights of my full week in Palawan for sure. Start early and take as much time as you can!
