Careys Secret Garden的点评
点评：Fabulous site with a serene atmosphere. We visited for a two hour Osprey viewing with the ‘Birds of Poole Harbour’ charity. As this took place at the gardens we were lucky enough to be able to take our time and wonder through the woods and garden. There is an interesting exhibition in the woods where some of the panels of the Berlin Wall have been sited. The juxtaposition of these reminders of restriction, set in the beautiful woodlands, is really thought provoking. There are stories with the panels that tell of areas where wildlife benefitted from the wall, illustrating that there are silver linings in the strangest of places.
The gardens are varied and very interesting with various garden statues and sculptors work throughout.
The little cafe/gift shop was not small enough to have a seating area but as it was warm we happily sat outside. The cakes were magnificent but sadly the coffee was undrinkable.
I think access would be difficult in a normal wheelchair, power assist might be needed. There are slopes and the paths are not smooth.
But even with these small issues it is a magical place, visit if you can.
