点评：I'm a year round resident who uses this pool all 12 months of the year. The task of being "all things to all people" is daunting, given the diversity of the visitor types, from expert swimmers to brand new beginners, from adults to kids, from people frightened of heights to people who dream about going off the highest dive.
I gotta hand it to the City of Palm Desert for running such a widely popular, much appreciated pool, all 12 months of the year, during peak summer season and the coolest winter day, and everything in between.
Some people come to this pool, and write reviews about how their particular day spent her was disappointing. I won't take that away from them. However, as a permanent resident, who experiences the pool during the entire year--during the swings of tourism, weather, dust storms, and political jockeying, this pool is a terrific, successful part of the Coachella Valley experience for a wide swath of residents and tourists alike. It's a very hard task, being the perfect experience for all comers. Yet this pool delivers day in and day out, most days of the year, with expert maintenance, attentive lifeguards, all sorts of specialized programs for a wide variety of people--tourists and residents alike.
To say that you had a bad day at this pool might mean something more than a criticism of the staff or the schedule of events. Perhaps it might mean adjusting an internal viewpoint about how a pool should best serve an individual's needs, as opposed to doing what it has to do in order serve the most people under extraordinary, demanding circumstances, 365 days a year.
