Walk in the footsteps of astronauts
Apollo/Saturn V Center的点评
点评：I've been to the Saturn V center a few times this year, but I have yet to see the preshow entrance because the line is always very long after several buses drop off visitors. Because of that, we took the side entrance to the museum and were able to walk through the Moon Tree garden- 12 trees planted to honor the 12 Apollo missions, each descended from a seedling that was taken into space during the Apollo era.
The museum itself is incredible- the size of these rockets and the lunar module are just unbelievable. There is a tribute to the Apollo 1 astronauts who died during a mission rehearsal test, but unfortunately the exhibit skirts around telling you what happened. The tribute has personal items from each astronaut and it's beautifully designed. At the end of it, you get to walk across a portion of the gantry that was actually used by Apollo astronauts!!
I definitely recommend checking out the show as well. It's very informative and had a lot of us on the edge of our seats, despite knowing that the missions it details happened decades ago. It empties out into a gallery of artifacts you just can't miss!
