点评：After a long drive from Murchison Falls, we arrived at Tembo Lodge, near the bridge at Kazinga Channel. It was late in the afternoon. The following morning, we wanted to do something light prior to entering QNEP at 2PM. My daughter and her friend wished to see flamingoes. So we decided to go to Katwe Salt mines and Lake Munyanyange. The drive from Kazinga Channel bridge was approximately 45 minutes and on the way we saw elephants, buffalos, knobs, etc. The road is outside the boundary of QNEP so park fees are not required. Hover-ever, there is an entrance fee of $10 per person to be paid at a office before the gate. Make sure you get the receipt because it is required at the gate. We had a local guide who joined us and explained the salt mines and history. It is ok, nothing fantastic. Afterwards we drove to the adjacent lake and saw lots of flamingoes and other birds. It was a worthwhile site and a break from game drives. The total time is 3-4 hours from Kazinga Channel Bridge, next to Tembo Safari Lodge. The $10 entrance fee helps the community. I recommend you visit if time permits.
