点评:Carmo Church is one of the must-see churches in Porto as it is famous for its beautiful architecture. At first sight it looks like there is only one big church on this site, but, in fact, there are two - Carmo and the Carmelites church, which are separated by one of the world's narrowest houses. This house was allegedly built to ensure that there would be no contact between the nuns and the monks from each respective church.
Carmo church is an elegant baroque building from the 18th century and its most famous feature is a wall covered in blue tiles depicting the founding of the Carmelite Order and Mount Carmel. The inside of the church is decorated in the Baroque and Rococo styles and it contains lavishly gilded altars, beautiful furniture, and many religious paintings and sculptures.
Although I wouldn't say that this is one of Porto's top attractions, I still consider it worth going to if you have sufficient time.
