Gayndah to Wulkaraka - BVRT
Brisbane Valley Rail Trail的点评
点评：In mid-August friends and I rode from Calliope to Wulkaraka over the course of 10 days (including a rest day at Gayndah).
The BVRT is in excellent condition and is superbly maintained. Whilst most sections are relatively easy there are some challenges along the way particularly the 'Old Stock Route' between Nanango and Yarraman - use caution and all will be well. The scenery and little villages/towns through which you will ride make the effort worthwhile.
Along the way we stayed at the Linville Hotel and the Grand Hotel in Esk.
At Linville we had the house at the rear of the hotel which was ideal for us - a small group of friends sharing facilities. A very pleasant surprise after a long day on the bikes was to find a hot spa on the verandah to ease tired, sore muscles. Dinner was excellent with an Asian-fusion style menu - beautiful food and very reasonably priced. The accommodation also came with a continental breakfast. I would thoroughly recommend staying at the Linville Hotel if it fits with your itinerary.
Similarly, the Grand Hotel at Esk was a welcome haven as we neared the end of our 'adventure'. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating providing secure overnight storage (and battery charging facilities) for our bikes while the rooms and food certainly met our expectations. Like the Linville Hotel, I would strongly recommend staying at the Grand Hotel in Esk if riding the BVRT.
