点评:We visited by foot walking down from upper Clovelly, no sign posting to ensure we payed but we were aware we did need to pay.
We also visited after 5pm, no fee to enter. It’s a very pretty village, very steep paths which are difficult to walk on even in trainers. Also very slippery when wet.
All the shops in the village itself are very cheap and tacky, nothing worth visiting. The visitors centre also sold allot of cheap touristy tat.
The shops selling soap, candles and scarfs were much better. Lovely to see the donkeys.
The hotel at the bottom, the staff were rude, all drinks are served in plastic glasses.
The new inn pub was very dated and shabby,
The village is definitely worth a visit as it’s pretty but go in the evening so you don’t have to pay.
It would be great if they overhauled the visitors centre, sell nice things, being more environmental. Even sell nice foods to bring in the locals, food from the nearby farms.
The brewery shop should be also be serving drinks.
