Country Craft Narrowboats的点评
点评：We were greeted by the owner, a lovely man, who provided us with a sturdy trolly to take our stuff from our car to the boat. It was our very first trip on a narrow boat. He ensured we were parked securely, and was generally very nice and helpful.
We were then joined by Olly, the owners nephew, and his girlfriend, both of whom took immense pride in their boats.
Ours was their smallest, ( we were first timers) and we were offered a larger boat , which had a bigger bed, but we were not confident enough to try one, so stayed with Country Fair, our original booking.
I was blown away by the facilities on board. Great gas cooker and hob, decent size fridge, good heating system, comfy bed and pillows , really well stocked kitchen, so cooking on board was a dream, all the gadgets one wd need and more, and everything absolutely spotless.
Best of all, which we didn’t realise until later, was Ollie and his girlfriend came up the first three locks with us. I had to go in the lock, and my husband did the gates, so we had one each to guide us. I was absolutely terrified, but Ollie gave me confidence to do it, and when we had to do the next lock all by ourselves, we kept in mind their instructions, and we were fine.
We met some other first timers along the way with other companies, who had no hands on instructions at all ! I believe this company are one of the few to give hands on guidance, and it’s definitely definitely needed, especially if new to narrow boats.
They assured us they were at the end of a phone if we needed them ( we didn’t , thankfully)
Cannot recommend Country crafts highly enough, and we loved every second on our little boat. We will definitely do this again.
