Ajuy Caves, Fuerteventura, great place for sunset.
Monumento Natural de Ajuy的点评
点评:We drove here from Caleta de Fuste making sure we arrived by 6pm as the caves are off limits near high tide.
Ajuy is a small area with a handful of restaurants which closed at 7.30pm so if you want to eat it's best to go early for lunch or early dinner,
If you drive there is free public car park at top of the hill or you can drive onto the gravel car park near the beach itself.
The beach is black sand and the current is quite strong but we enjoyed an hour swimming in the area.
There are public toilets near the beach
The caves are viewable from the cove or you can swim to a couple of poole in low tide which become covered by the sea from about 7pm onwards.
Ajuy is on the west coast and is a great place for watching the sunset. We took the walk up the cliff face which takes about 20 minutes to the end where you will find another cave you can walk down into.
We then stopped halfway back to enjoy the sunset from the cliff face.
Definitely worth a visit and you can easily spend more than half a day here.
