Children affect the tranquility

点评：As always the pools were excellent. What ruins the atmosphere is that the place is riddled with small kids. While I’m unsure why parents pay full price for their kids to come, the fact remains is that after you’ve paid a significant amount of money to relax in a pool, you are then joined by small children and young adolescents. Today we have had kids running, yelling, blowing bubbles, jumping in the pools and practicing their floating and swimming skills by swimming laps of the small bathing pools. We also had a group of 6 young adolescent boys who were loudly mocking the bathers around them. For the price point, it’s not relaxing.
The menu has changed in the restaurant recently and seems to have improved. There are minimal GF options however. I’m disappointed that there’s flour in the sauces for many of the dishes and there is no dedicated fryer.
On three separate occasions now we have also attempted to book for lunch in the morning, only to be told bookings aren’t required as “it’s not busy today”. We then attempt to sit for lunch only to be asked why we didn’t book. This has happened numerous times now.
They have also sewed shut the pockets on the gowns as they encourage leaving phones in lockers. What Alba management doesn’t understand is that there are other reasons for requiring pockets, in our case, carrying an insulin pump for a type 1 diabetic. This diabetic also needs their phone to check their BGL readings. Alba still has a ways to go in regards to their accessibility for those with disability and medical conditions.
Overall alba is a relaxing place but disallowing children and improving their restaurant would go a long way to improving the overall experience.
