Ashley River Park的点评
点评：Still fairly new, the Ashley River Park is a much-needed relief from the crowds of downtown Summerville, or the glare and noise of an arcade. Situated on the banks of the Ashley River, near its headwaters, this is an activity park for the entire family.
For dog-lovers, there is an entire section for your fur-babies to run around and play in. For kids, there's a section of playground that is little-friendly, but still allows them to feel accomplished when they successfully climb those 3 steps, or slide down the ramp. For the bigs, a full-scale, multiple-unit playground area challenges everyone, with climbing, sliding, balancing, and other activities that makes exercise fun. Finally, there is a zip line that provides hours of entertainment watching people almost flip off when it hits the end.
If that wasn't enough, there is a huge splash pad with dozens of nozzles that allows kids to run around and play in. A map of the area is etched into the concrete, too. While we haven't deciphered it yet, it makes it that much more interesting. Seating under picnic pavilions is available, and you can sit along the back wall of the splash pad, where the water refreshes itself by pouring out of slots in the wall before going to the pad drains.
Finally, head to the back of the complex, and you'll find hiking trails, walking paths, concert ampitheater, and other activities. Some trails lead to the river, while others keep you in the shade of the woods. Sometimes, you'll find food trucks back there....
Regardless, spend an hour with your baby to get out of the house, spend a few hours hosting a birthday party, or just get out, get some sun, and stretch your legs. This park has it all.
