点评:This modest, but interesting museum is a good starting point, to expand your knowledge about the first battle of the Jacobite Rebellion. It’s easy to get to by train, directly from Edinburgh, and a short walk into its location on the High Street of the lovely town of Prestonpans. The friendly and helpful staff on the day I visited (Caroline & Jan) were dressed in period costumes and were very knowledgeable about the historical details of the battle, fought not very far from the museum. I found the battlefield diorama most helpful to visualize and imagine this historical event. There were a few interesting artifacts associated with Prince Charles Edward Stuart, and life size staged representations of uniformed Soldiers. The museum had clean toilets, children’s playing area to recreate the battle, lots of nice battle themed souvenirs for sale, and even a wheelchair lift. You might be there about 45 minutes to an hour. Worth a visit.
