Battle Of Prestonpans Jacobite Museum的点评
点评：This is a delightful little museum, full of interesting exhibits on the famous 1745 battle - a truly dramatic event in Jacobite history. I was especially impressed with the 3D diorama which depicts the course of the battle. I had read a little about the battle before my visit, but being able to trace the action in the diorama added a whole new dimension. Another highlight was the wonderful Prestonpans Tapestry. Loosely modelled on the Bayeux Tapestry, it is over 100 metres long, but unfortunately the museum only has space to show two panels at a time on a rotating basis. I understand that they are looking for a new site where they will be able to display the whole thing at once. I hope they succeed.
The museum is easy to reach from Edinburgh via the frequent 26 bus service which stops a short distance away, or by a less frequent but faster train service.
