Boardwalk is closed, check before you travel the latest status with the cafe.
Stromatolites of Shark Bay的点评
点评：I wish I had checked TripAdvisor reviews before travelling, as the most recent ones are largely accurate.
The Hamelin Pool Stromatolites are a nationally significant natural feature, but unfortunately the boardwalk has still not been properly repaired following cyclone damage several years ago. For such an important site, it is disappointing that access remains restricted. While we understand there have been attempts to resolve the issue, these appear to have been complicated by local arrangements with the café.
It is also possible that some of the stromatolite formations themselves have been affected by storm damage, which is particularly unfortunate given their scientific and historical importance.
One suggestion made by others that we fully agree with is the need for clear signage on the main road indicating that the boardwalk is closed. This would save visitors a significant amount of unnecessary travel.
If you do decide to visit, it is worth stopping at the café first to pick up face nets, as the flies are extremely persistent and can make the experience uncomfortable.
On a positive note, I was able to get some drone footage from the far edge of the boardwalk area, which did salvage something from the visit.
