Amazing time with Targi

点评：We had a great time in the desert with Targi! We really didn’t know what to expect going into the tour and it was better than we could’ve ever thought. We did 4 days in tadrat rouge (highly recommend this part- it is a great combo of seeing ancient paintings and engravings and wild desert landscapes) and a side trip to an oasis. We had AMAZING, fresh food too and felt incredibly safe and cared for the whole time. The highlight was definitely our guide Abdul and driver Abdullah. We learned so so so much from them - history, turag culture and had so many cool conversations about all sorts of topics. Abdul is incredibly curious and knows the desert inside and out. It felt like we could ask anything and made the experience so much more meaningful!! They were attentive when we asked to walk or stop and check out certain spots- they even helped us spontaneously ride camels when we got so excited about them. Salim was also super responsive and is really passionate about giving his clients the best experience possible - it meant a lot. Couldn’t recommend Targi enough. Biggest thing we wish we knew - there are no ATMs in Algeria where you can use a foreign card so make sure you bring enough cash for the whole trip. The visa Salim helps with isn’t actually a Visa but a visa approval form so you will have to get and pay for your actual visa in cash at the airport. This kinda screwed us because even though we brought extra cash, we thought we’d be able to get more at ATMs in Algeria and the visa was expensive so we barely had enough cash to pay for everything. Lessons learned. Also we recommend bringing toilet paper and hand sanitizer. Go to the desert with Targi!! We hope to be back!!
