Incredible 1/2 Day on Serendipity with Dario and Nico 🤘🏼

点评：Went on the newest addition to the GS Fleet, the Serendipity.
To begin, the boat is a fantastic platform for fishing. It could likely hold 8-10 but I would encourage groups of 6 or less for maximum comfort. When lines are screaming (as they were that day) and captain and mate are running to clear lines, help crank, tease fish, etc, IMHO it's better to not have too many folks on deck. It comfortable, powerful, plenty of seating, just right.
Then there's the crew. It's often hard to find the perfect balance of professionalism, skill and just plain fun. Checking 2 of the boxes is normal, but all 3 is rare. Captain Dario and mate Nico are incredible. Funny, easy-going and really really good at what they do. And what they do is make you feel at home and find the fish. Went on a half-day deep sea trip and ended up with 4 species...some skipjack, barracuda, my first blackfin tuna and two yellowfin tuna. The first yellowfin was on the small side but second was a nice sized fish...likely 45-50lbs, although the tax collector (shark) took about half of it off on the way to the boat. Normally, when a shark gets ahold of fish, it's game over, but the teamwork of cranking on the reel and Dario and Nico tag-teaming and hand-lining it it, we ended up with the catch of the day and the talk of the dock when we got back. Not only a nice 20-25lbs of yellowfin, but my first "Allison," which is when a yellowfin has exceptionally beautiful and elongated pectoral and dorsal fins. Thankfully, the shark bit off JUST behind them, leaving them in all their glory.
Back to the dock around noon and they expertly cleaned the fish, still chatting and cracking me up and being fun as hell. These guys are amazing. Go fish with 'em.
