Took a private tour of the museum with the President of the Historical Society

点评：I had an amazing trip to the Pennsville Historical Society in December right before Christmas. The Society was closed for the season but I asked to see all the decorations from the Holiday Open House as the museum was only open on Sundays from 1:00pm-4:00pm and it was impossible for me to visit.
The President of the Historical Society and one of the Board members gave me a private tour of the museum and what a wonderful experience that was in the afternoon. All the rooms were so beautifully decorated for the holidays and it was like walking through a Christmas fantasyland of decorations and dazzling trees. Each room was tastefully decorated with an array of colors and themes and the first weekend of December Santa had come to visit with record crowds at the museum.
It is the outer buildings that really shine as when we took our tour, each one unlocked a little treasure of Pennsville's past. There was a Miliary theme, a School theme, a Business theme and my favorite, the Riverview Park Amusement building of artifacts from the old amusement park. That is a treat for amusement fans.
In the summer months, the museum is especially pleasant being right by the Delaware River with its beautiful views of the bridge and cool breezes. The hours are limited at the museum but really make an effort to visit this little gem in Southern New Jersey. It is well worth the trip.
