Great Notley Country Park的点评
点评：Oh dear. Great Notley Park still has some fun stuff to keep kids occupied, but it feels like it's also lost a lot.
Firstly, as everyone says, the parking is too expensive. It's now even worse because Essex council have handed the parking contract to one of those depressing firms that insist you download their annoying app and pay in advance online. The makeshift parking signs referred to an "onsite terminal" but I never saw one. To cap it all the 4G signal was unreliable and it took me several attempts to pay. A frustrating start to the visit.
The cafe was open when we arrived but looks a bit sorry. There was a very limited choice of snacks and seemingly no hot food. The solitary cafe staff member sat behind the till looking at his phone which was unsuprising given the complete absence of customers. The floor was dirty and needed sweeping.
The main attraction for families will be the play equipment. There are still enough of them to pass an hour or two in good weather, but much has disappeared in recent years. The water play feature near the cafe has gone. The amazing high ropes play area by the sandpit has gone. The zip wire had had it's seat removed so stands there empty.
It's such a shame, Notley park used to be so much better than this.
