点评：Excellent hike through the woods behind Handschuheim. There is a complex of ruins within walking distance of Thingstatte. I recommend having a taxi drop you off at Heidenloch (there is a taxi stand in Neuenheim by the Sparkasse bank and the park). From there you can walk in and see the Heidenloch well and walk up the tower. It is the best view of Heidelberg castle!
From there you walk to Thingstatte. It is an impressive structure filled with a sense of deep mourning.
From there you can walk to St. Michael's Abbey ruins. The trail system run for several miles/km along the Ridge line with various other ruins I haven't fully explored yet. I recommend renting an Ebike so you can fully check out the trail system.
Watch for the signs on the trees for trail systems. The rocks indicate ruins/sites and sign posts will show you which way to which village. Bring water and snacks!
