点评:Landungsbrücken is like a host who doesn't know what more to offer his visitor.
Dedicate a whole day to its activities.
My advice, for experiencing life at sea, seasoned with history, is to visit the SS Rickmer Rickmers, Hamburg's naval symbol.
It goes without saying that it's anchored in the Fiete-Schmidt pontoon, where a splendid three -masted, green sailing ship awaits you.
It is there, proudly displayed like a retiree enjoying a well-deserved rest.
It has a long history: born in 1896, in Brema, with 21 sailors and 4 cabin boys, it began a turbulent life, with changes in ownership, names and business; not to mention a war with the English flag, as a training ship for Portuguese naval cadets, winning a training ship regatta until its return to its homeland.
Start a new life: waste material eliminated, renovated and its name restored until finding is current "rest" location and consequent opening to the public since 1987.
And now, not liking to "sit around" doing nothing, it offers a splendid restaurant (a shame, really, my visit was after lunch!)
A piece of advice: stop for a while on the bridge, sited in a bench, and with your eyes closed, listen to life passing by, in silence!
