点评：There is a 360-degree view from the extraordinary 55-metre tower, however anyone interested in modern Australian architecture will need a drink after checking out the Robin Boyd-designed buildings. Boyd died before the work was complete so The Ashton Tower Lookout was named after E. R. (Ted) Ashton, the architect who took over the project.
Who was Ted? Edward ‘Ted’ Ashton established ERA Architects (formally E R Ashton Architecture and ERA2000 Architects) in 1974. Ted was a pioneer in Australian architecture until his retirement at age 82. He was born in 1927 and passed away in 2013.
There is no cost to visiting this tower but I would highly recommend a visit into the other parts of the winery... such as the art gallery or the tasting room. From this tower you will get sweeping views of the landscape around you.
I have a huge fear of heights, but unusually it was not too bad up the tower... except I could not go too close and lean over like others from my group. It feels very safe to be up there and it's well worth the trip up there.
