点评：My friend's had just finished taking the Amantani Island Homestay Cultural Tour... so I had to check it out the following week. The stay was one of my favorite events of the trip. Elvis Quispe was my guide, and grew up on Amantani Island. Elvis is a respected member of the community and knows everyone on the islands. He provided an abundance of information about the history of the islands and personal accounts about daily life. I love the dedication of the communities to preserve all aspects of their culture.
The homestay was beautiful and I felt very spoiled with my host family who provided me with a private room, delicious meals, and were a lot of fun to dance with at the social mixer! It is always nice to make new friends while traveling and know that the majority of the funds of the trip are going directly to the host families. If you can make a request for the guide... go with Elvis!
Traveling solo was not an issue. There were other travelers who were solo and everyone was very welcoming. Our boat included another, larger tour group. Sounds like our accommodations were much nicer with All Ways Travel.
