Baroque grandeur and amazing gardens!

点评：This palace is an absolute 'must' if you are in Berlin. Not visiting it, would be like missing La Versaille whilst in Paris or omitting the Acropolis whilst in Athens! For it is related to the grandeur of Prussia and the dynasty of the Hohenzollern, above all the King Friedrich II, known as "the Great". You may be walking inside for at least 3 hours, admiring the splendour of baroque halls, paintings and many other artifacts and works of art, most importantly the "new wing", added by Friedrich II himself; there you shall be amazed by the porcelain, silverware, royal sceptres, crowns,the royal chapel, etc. Finishing your exploration inside, you will enjoy a long stroll in the huge magnificent surrounding gardens and park.
And after leaving this most imposing place, you may walk along the beautiful "Schlossstrasse", on your way back to the U-Bahn station "Sophie-Charlotte Platz", from where you can return to central Berlin. This station is a twenty-minutes-walk from the palace entrance. The U-Bahn station "Richard Wagner Platz" is also at a similar distance from the palace. Note that the palace actually lies within the city of Berlin; therefore, a taxi to get you there should not cost too much (We paid 17 euro to get there from our hotel on Wittenberg Platz). Also note that you may easily explore the place on your own, a guided tour is not necessary, as there is plenty of information to read inside the palace halls and the queues at the ticket counters are by no means too long.
