Small but beautiful German Late Baroque church

点评：Officially called St. Johann Nepomuk, this is a richly decorated 18th-century church situated along Sendlingerstrasse. It is the work of the famed Asam brothers and is considered a masterpiece of German Late Baroque architecture. The church reported opening hours are 9am to 7pm (Sat to Thurs) and 1pm to 7pm (Fri).
Well worth enjoying the facade for a moment or two prior to entering the Asamkirche. Once inside, you are treated to a small but opulently decorated nave with just a few rows of seating. The interior is a treat for those who enjoy Baroque and Rococo churches, feast your eyes on the altar, ceiling fresco, tremendous use of gilding, stucco and decoratively filled space. Do be ready to compete with crowds as this is a popular church to see in Munich.
