点评:I was drawn to visit the Fondation Beyeler for its Monet Water Lilies triptych and other Impressionist works as well as its building by architect Renzo Piano. The grounds are quite nice, lots of green space, a large outdoor sculpture by Ellsworth Kelly, water lily pools, and more. Upon arrival, we learned that the usual permanent collection where the Water Lilies et al were hung was closed for a new exhibition. Our only option was to see their Northern Lights exhibition featuring paintings by Edvard Munch and Hilma af Klint and other notable Scandinavian and Canadian artists dating from 1888 to 1937. Among them were some 30 works by the noted Group of Seven plus several by Emily Carr. Surprising to see that many Group of Seven paintings included! Enjoyed views of the water lilies pool from inside the building and from the outside! Saw some stunning water lilies in bloom!! Hope to return someday to see their permanent collection.
