点评：The Annunciation Basilica is a mix of architectural eras. The church was built over centuries - stretching from the 13th century and finally completed in 1857 with a huge makeover while keeping the Baroque and Renaissance elements.
The facade is designed to melt in with the surrounding buildings on the square carrying the same name. On the floor leading in is the armory of the Pucci family - the black Moor head, which can also be seen in interior decorations.
The interior is Baroque overload with golden decorations in the ceiling, and the old Annunciation chapel dating back to the 14th century with a fresco by Fra Bartolemeo.
Many of the other works of art originally placed here are now in museums across the city - San Marco, the Accademia, the Uffizi, and even abroad - which takes away some of its former glory.
Entrance is free and the church is open from 6.30-12.30 and again from 16.00-18.30.
It is clearly also a local church with citizens using it for their daily prayers, and as visitor you feel this and should of course respect the silence.
