点评:As Newfoundlanders we were honored and humbled to visit this site, paying our respects to the fallen soldiers who never got to return home. The events that unfolded here impacted Newfoundland for generations and walking along the trenches was a very emotional experience for me. The Canadian Government has done a wonderful job preserving and caring for this National Historic Site of Canada. The student guides at the visitor center were very friendly and informative. One of them brought out the remnants of a shell casing that they had just found that day. It was amazing to realize they are still finding them after all this time. Although they offer tours of the grounds throughout the day, we elected not to wait but to take a self-guided tour using the numbered map they provided. Overall a fantastic and memorable experience.
