An outstanding balance of art, architecture & decoration- with a dazzling cafe to boot!
多利亚潘菲利美术馆的点评
点评：Miffed not being able to get last minute tix for the much hyped Caravaggio …visiting here was in some ways a more valuable spending of time…it’s always fascinating to visit a house with its essentially original furnishings & art collection- but here richness & fine detail ( if a little neglected in some places!) win the day …notably the glazed former loggia - no doubt with a significant debt to Versailles& the Hall of Mirrors - where one marvels at the unlikely beeswax affected terracotta floor upon which such baroque grandeur dazzles..and more . Much more!
The fine art ( Caravaggio included !) is superb, and overall here surely is something for everyone.
Not to be missed however is visiting the Cafe Doria operation on one side of the now-being -restored cloistered inner courtyard..near perfection of both presentation and the delightful quality of product served combine to give huge satisfaction.
So often F&B concessions in famous places are both dismal as well as poor value.
Here the prices aren’t low, but they in fact represent value for refinement combined with delicious quality .
Competent service in a gorgeous setting made for the perfect conclusion of our visit.
Highly recommended.
