Wonderful special exhibitions draw me back for return visits!

点评：Four years after our initial visit to the Muskegon Museum of Art, I found myself back twice in two months to see special exhibitions and attend associated talks. In April I saw Visions: 16 Detroit Artists and attended a panel discussion with a couple of the artists while several more artists in the exhibition were present and available to talk in the galleries. More recently I came to see the John Steuart Curry: Weathering the Storm exhibition. Stunning and interesting to see so much work of this American artist's work and to learn more about him and how he fits into the American art scene, both from the chronological perspective and from the regional Midwest perspective. I'll be keeping an eye on MMA's upcoming exhibitions. They will be opening a new museum addition so may have bigger and better shows coming. If you haven't visited this museum, they have an excellent permanent collection with works by significant American and European artists like Hopper, Bonnard, Sisley, Catlett, Butterfield, Marsh, and Homer.
