Paço dos Duques de Bragança的点评
点评：I was a bit disappointed and we ended up touring the place in 20 minutes.
The place was renovated but it was all very impersonal. Furthermore, it was quite dark, which made it difficult to appreciate the huge tapestries hanging from the walls. Paintings were either too far or lighting made it impossible to appreciate them. Usually I take lots of pictures, but not here.
Only the Chapel was quite impressive, built in Burgundy style as is the whole building.
This Palacio was built in the 15th century by Afonso who was granted the title of Duke of Braganza by his brother Pedro then Regent of the Kingdom. Afonso was an illegitimate son of King D. João I with Ines Pires, a Jew. Afonso never became King but he was in charge of governing the Kingdom for 9 years.
His 6th generation grandson would become King D. João IV, first King of the fourth dynasty.
