点评：As with its counterpart in Nimes, the Roman Amphitheatre in Arles draws visitors and history buffs. Roman Arelate was settled by the veterans of Ceasar's military campaigns and offer numerous historic artifacts from the period.
The amphitheatre is well preserved. Historians belief that this amphitheatre is slightly older than the one in Nimes, but also a slightly bigger in its demensions. Both amphitheatres are dated from the 1st century AD.
I would say that the Nimes amphitheatre is slightly more interesting and better preserved, but the Arles is more interesting of the city than Nimes.
A traveller has an option to purchase a combo ticket that will include access to 6 other landmarks, such as, and not only the amphitheatre, Roman Theatre, Alyscamps, and the undergrounds.
The amphitheatre is centrally located, making it an ideal landmark to start or end your exploration of Arles. I spent roughly an hour on my visit.
