点评:We had read about Les Baux being a belle village and as such we decided to pay a visit. We were not disappointed. The village is very attractive with narrow cobbled streets and some very nice shops selling excellent quality goods - yes they are geared up for the tourists, but that does not detract from their qualify. We did not try the restaurants but they also looked good. We primarily came to visit the Chateau, and were delighted to be able to use our ‘passport tickets’ from other sites to gain a useful discount. As to the chateau, it is huge, albeit now in ruins, which clings to the rocky outcrop above the town. Some magnificent views can be obtained from the various towers and battlements and surrounding grounds. We deliberately chose ‘sensible’ shoes to climb amongst the ruins - this is not a place for flip flops especially given some slippery stones (worn smooth by countless feet). Also, on a quite a calm day, there was a considerable breeze blowing at certain points around the chateau - we assume the rock cliff generates a wind by its very nature - so be warned, care needs to be exercised even on steps with rails. We spent about two hours doing all the ruins and gardens etc), and about three hours in total. There are lots of parking areas/spaces to be found and we paid 7 € for 4 hours - not too bad compared with the prices paid by other TA reviewers. So it may depend on the car park…..all-in-all a very interesting few hours……in a village that lives up to its description.
