A beautiful park with interesting museums!

点评：Serralves Museum is one of the most important cultural institutions in Portugal's second city Porto. The museum is just one of the sites of the Serralves Foundation, which also includes the Alvaro Siza wing, the treetop walk, Serralves Park, Serralves Villa, and the Casa do Cinema (House of Cinema) Manoel de Oliveira.
The Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art does not have a permanent collection, so it hosts several temporary exhibitions each year. Although modern art is not my cup of tea, I did enjoy exploring the displays in the museum.
Serralves Villa is a great example of 1930s Art Deco architecture and some of the prominent figures that participated in its design and construction are Edgar Brandt, Rene Lalique, and Marques da Silva.
The House of Cinema is another highlight of the Serralves Foundation. It contains a permanent exhibition, as well as a documentation centre, dedicated to the works of the renowned Portuguese director Manoel de Oliveira.
Last, but not least, I'd like to say a bit about the park. It consists of lovely gardens, a fun treetop walk, and a farm where you can see pigs, donkeys, cows and other animals. The park also contains interesting sculptures which, I believe, are not there permanently but are installed as part of temporary exhibitions.
A ticket for all Serralves sites will set you back by €24, while a ticket for just the park will cost you only €15. There are significant discounts for students, as well as a 20% discounts for holders of Porto Card, though I suggest you check the website to make sure you qualify for the reduced rates. Although the full ticket is a bit pricey, I would say that it's still worth it as you can easily spend a couple of hours exploring just the stunning park.
