桑德曼酒窖的点评
点评：Although I've been to Portugal on many occasions over the years this was my first visit to Porto until my twin brother booked us a weeks holiday here in this most beautiful and fascinating of Portuguese city's, loved the people, lovely architecture,great tourist destinations and the pubs, bars, cafe's and restaurants were superb, on day six of our holiday we crossed over Ponte Luis I over to the city of Vila Nova De Gaia which I naively thought was part of Porto until my twin brother corrected me and informed me that Vila Nova De Gaia is a city in its own right separated from Porto by the majestic River Douro, we had booked a tour to Sandeman Cellars which was awesome.
I loved it ,the theatrically of this tour was fantastic led by a guide decked out in the Sandeman outfit ( Sandeman port " Don " ) ,I'm very familiar with the logo of the silhouette of a man a Portuguese students cloak and Spanish hat ,loved the historic nature of the tour from this port wine brand that was established in 1790 by George Sandeman ,the barrel rooms is amazing, the interior is superb, the decor, the furnishings, the arched ceilings, the tasting room,loved every aspect of this tour and especially the port wine tasting, enjoyed Ruby port,tawny port and white port as did my twin brother Stephen ,couldn't fault anything about our visit here ,the highlight of our full day out in Vila Nova De Gaia, we will most definitely go again next time we're in Porto & Vila Nova De Gaia hopefully very soon.
Sandeman Cellars is easy to locate along the quayside of Vila Nova De Gaia along Largo Miguel Bombarda .
Opening hours are;
Monday to Sunday, 10am till 6pm.
A wonderful tour,a great port wine destination, most definitely well worth checking out if you're planning a holiday or trip to the wonderful city of Vila Nova De Gaia.
