Because of this the cathedral is a mix of architectural styles, primarily Romanesque for the exterior and the nave and Baroque for the interior.
Some of the highlights of the cathedral are the elegant Gothic cloister, which is at least 600 years old, the funerary chapel of the knight Joao Gordo, the beautiful glazed blue tiles, and the cathedral treasure, which contains many lavish gold and silver artefacts.
Standard tickets for the cathedral cost just £2.59, which is ridiculously cheap considering you can easily spend over an hour here. I suggest you set aside some time to explore the cathedral and while you're in the area, you should also visit the stunning episcopal palace, which is located nearby.
