点评:Visited here as part of a tour. It’s a beautiful site with picturesque views and a heartbreaking tragic history.
The other reviews say it all but here’s my summery:
Wear decent shoes - the walk up can get steep (not as steep as the cave of Zeus). The ground is also uneven, so if you’re not sure on your feet then don’t risk it as it’s also slippery at points.
10 mins walk to cave - the walk up to the cave took me about 7-10 minutes. I walk quite fast but due to the ground under foot I walked slower than usual.
Torch - if you have one, it’s worth bringing a torch. Though the torch on your phone will do if not.
Low cave - the cave is quite low at points and you have to duck to get in through the entrance point.
Other useful advice:
I have mild asthma, and did have to take my inhaler on the walk up due to the heat. The walk up is okay, and whilst it does go up, there are also points where it goes down and levels out. The steepest point is the last 25m walk up to the cave, though as I said before, if you’ve done the cave of Zeus, this is a doddle compare to that - nowhere near as steep. Also I’m overweight and was worried about the walk up, but generally, it was fine.
All in all, well worth a visit. It’s a beautiful area, with beautiful views on the hike, and a fascinating history (be sure to read about it!)
