点评:we bought a joint ticket for the castle and Alcazaba, which is well priced at 20 euros, or possibly less as we bought it jointly, £17 on the credit card statement. The joint ticket is valid for 48 hrs so no need to visit both sites the same day if you don't want to.
For the princely sum of 1 euro we got a city bus, number 35, up to the castle, arriving not long after 09:00 opening. I'd definitely recommend going early and beating both those slogging up the hill from the Alcazaba and the coach parties that start arriving from 10 onwards.
The views from the ramparts are truly stunning. You can walk round the ramparts in their entirety savouring 360 degree views. That in itself is an argument for arriving as near to opening time as possible. The ramparts are relatively narrow and there is no one way system. Not an issue when we were there but by the time we were leaving it was starting to get a bit congested in some parts.
The castle grounds are quite extensive and there is a fascinating set of info boards (only in Spanish) in one of the lower sections on the fruits and vegetables that would have been grown there. It also has a small museum that's worth a wander round.
Loos and a (somewhat over-priced for Malaga) cafe serving both drinks and food, though we did not make use of it. Loos easily accessed and clean.
Not the best place for anyone with any great mobility issues - lot of steps, and a lot of uneven ground.
100% worth a visit.
