Quite Possibly the best museum in the Nova Scotia Museum System
Le Village Historique Acadien de la Nouvelle-Ecosse的点评
点评:This isn’t a review on the museum as much as it is the staff, who were all great but two in particular made the visit. We were greeted by an extremely friendly lady in the Acadian homestead who kept referring to the house as “ours” and going into great detail during the tour, which isn’t unusual for a staff member playing character in a interpretive museum. Once we finished the tour we had moment to speak one on one with the interpreter. She told us how this was her family home and how she lived in it when she was first married and that it had since been donated to the museum. This was the first time I’ve ever been to a museum house that the interpreter was once the resident, this really added to the experience and brought the history to life. The second was the gentleman in the lobster fishing shed, normally you get a summer student who has a brief general knowledge of the topic. Our host was an active lobster fisherman who captivated a large group of us tourists on the wharf for over an hour with stories and could answer any question that was asked. As a resident of Nova Scotia who’s been to every museum in the provincial system I didn’t think I could be wowed by any exhibit but my whole group was taken aback by the experience. If there is one museum you visit in Nova Scotia this is the one!
