点评:My husband and I took a TukTuk tour and this was one of the stops. Our guide had little information about The Temple Debod, even though he really tried. We took pictures and walked around the park, it was peaceful. We didn’t understand the history of this and other Temples in the area of Aswan and Nubia until we did some investigating on our own, when we got back to the hotel. This temple was built in 200BC, dedicated to the goddess Isis. It was given to Spain along with other artifacts in the 1970’s as a thank you for helping Egypt save these monuments from flooding the area by creating a dam on the Nile. The USA, Spain and others helped to dig and save many monuments from disappearing all together due to the necessity of building the dam. The USA has a different Temple, the Temple of Dendur, and it is located in the NYMet museum.
