点评:Housed in former Swedish East India building. Well presented, Gothenburg's life thro the centuries. Lot of info in English. Though the audio and films in the different sections is Swedish only.
Start on 1st floor to left, covers Prehistoric times, from Stone Age to Iron Age. Skeleton of young man, Rolfsakars, 4500 yrs ago. Amazingly well preserved. They debate whether they should continue to show, yes, some cultures believe it ensures their After life.
Viking part: Remains of Askekarr, a Viking cargo ship from 900s. Readable boards but those inside small glass cases, hard to read info on the glass, pity.
Nya Lodose, from mid1300s-1600s which became Gothenburg.
How Gothenburg was built from 1621. Interesting film on different suburbs but wish there were English subtitles.
Then remaining centuries up to present day, spaciously laid out cover politics, social awareness, and trade.
There's a 3rd floor, Children's museum, but I was too tuckered and in need of some Fika!
There's no café but benches dotted around to take a short break.
Fika!
