Museums should be ashamed at overcrowding

点评：The Albertina joins a list of othercstoried institutions.
Are museums looking for cash? Or are they looking to publish record breaking visitors?
The Chagall exhibit ranks right up there with the most unpleasant. Therecwere no timed tickets, no limitations on visitors.
It's an endless parade of selfies and instagram moments. It was the same earlier this year with Rothko and De Staehl in Paris.
This is not about art and museums should be taken to task and held accountable.
On the reverse, the outstanding Ghenie exhibit and Jim Dine exhibit were stellar and empty.
That a museum can promote Chagall and not encourage or promote other significant programs is disheartening.
Who knows if the Chagall exhibit was good or excellent. At inconvenient entry points they had installed tvs which had people watching and blocking traffic.
Then there was the gallery attendant screaming at people not to take a photo of the last painting. When that didn't work she stood in front of the art flapping her arms like a seagull.
These are galleries that get public support and we expect better.
