点评:I was initially bummed to learn via Stoked’s website that no tours were offered on the Monday morning that my family and I would be free in Homer. However, I gave James a call and he was happy to accommodate me and my budding beekeeper (AKA four-year-old daughter) for a visit around the grounds on Monday morning. We showed up on a sunny, crisp morning with Stoked’s team mascot (Raven the dog) bounding up to greet us.
Aidan (sp?) welcomed us and made a honey steamer for my daughter, and James treated us to some interactive learning via a few rounds of bee trivia. Afterwards, we checked out the workshop where production happens and sampled a few different types of honey. So cool to see where all the magic happens, and to get an up-close look/taste.
Finally, James took us up to meet the bees. Absolutely fascinating to see them up close, though we didn’t stay too long — it was windy and chilly, and James didn’t want them to get grumpy. We ended our visit with a trip back to the workshop to buy some fireweed honey.
Super friendly folks doing cool stuff, and I’m very grateful for the way James and crew went out of their way to accommodate us. It’s the stuff of core memories. Hope we can take the full tour on a future visit to Homer!

Aidan(拼写正确吗?)
